Currently I own an Xbox360. I've had a PS3 before, but I, somehow, did not like it, in comparison to the Xbox360. The games which are available to the Xbox360 are, in my opinion, a lot better in certain views. However, if I look at the internal systems of each console, I think the PS3 would win, no doubt.
So, my vote goes to Xbox360.

I have both console, for movies, i use the ps3. And for games, frankly speaking, i use the xbox 360 as it is modded and im able to play backup on it. If i love the game and would like to play multiplayer on it, i would purchase a ps3 version of it

I don't really know what you peeps thinking, but I was quite stunned by the vote result. C'mmon guys, by the time PS3 have a great game libs the PS3 itself will be obsolete (and maybe, at that time MS has released "X720"). PS3 has failed. Admit it. I, myself have been admitting it since Q2 2008.

I say it's a tossup... you can't go wrong with either system. With the newer X360s and their 65nm CPU and GPUs, the RROD is supposed to occur much less frequently, so apparently reliability is no longer as big of an issue between the two consoles. With so many games working multiplatform (and nearly indistinguishable between the two systems), you just have to look at the exclusives on each system, and decide which set interests you more. The PS3 has some amazing games in Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4. The 360 also has some killer exclusives, with Mass Effect, the Halo games, and gobs of JRPGs. I'd also highly suggest looking at what your friends have, especially if you're wanting to play games online with them. Xbox Live is supposed to be worth the subscription fee if you play at all online. The PSN is supposed to be great considering it's free, but not anywhere near as developed as Live. Beyond that, the PS3 is a *great* deal due to that Blu-Ray player in it. In fact, if you're thinking of looking for a Blu-Ray player in the near future, you'd probably be best off getting the PS3. Keep in mind, I've heard rumors of a PS3 price drop in the near future to get some more momentum up... so you may wish to hold off on buying a console for a bit. As for future-proofing? The Xbox 360 has better developer support (and more games), and is apparently much easier to program for (which is why a few multiplatform games run or look marginally better on it), so it's probably the better bet for this moment. The PS3 has, in theory, a FAR more advanced CPU compared to the Xbox 360... but if you really look at it, it's the GPU that drives the amazing graphics in today's games. And the PS3's GPU is nothing special. That being said, the PS3's monster storage capacity (A harddrive in every device, as well as 45 gig DL-Blu Rays) leads you to games like Metal Gear Solid 4, which wouldn't be possible on the Xbox 360 without compression and splitting the game over five or six DVDs. So by the end of the life cycle, the PS3 will have bigger, badder games than the 360. So honestly, in the end, it comes down to what you want. Look at the exclusives, your friends, and your needs, then make your decision. The PS3 has a brighter future, and is the best Blu-Ray player on the market. The Xbox 360 has a brighter present, better online, and is significantly cheaper, especially if you mod it (not that I support such activities ). But whichever you decide, you will NOT be disappointed with EITHER system.Of course, as for my personal feelings on PS3 versus Xbox 360? If I had to choose between them, and didn't get a free Xbox 360? PC, because I couldn't be bothered to get a console solely for NHL 2009.

I prefer the 360. Looks like my vote just put 360 up by one vote. Amazing how extremely close it is after 255 votes.

Definitely PS3. But if you just want gaming and nothing else, go for the 360. However if you want a blue-ray player, a multimedia machine and gaming console in-one, go for the PS3. As I see, your better off getting a PS3.
