Softmod Wii 4.2u HELP! O_O

step one worked fine ,i formatted sd card put files "bootwii folder,WAD folder,boot.dol,and startup.elf onto my sd card,rebooted wii went to HBC channel i hit my home and all i see it "back,About,Exit to system Menu,Shutdown. i dont see anything else saying to install .please help.

"Install the Homebrew Channel First, then DVDX, then bootmii, When you select bootmii select prepare Sd 1st, after its done move up to install BootMii as IOS and press A, let it finish then exit." If you don't see bootmii as an option in the homebrew channel when you press home then bootmii was not installed. Redo the steps to install bootmii and try it over,If it still won't work you May want to try using different Sd card. formatted to fat32

ok everything is working great thanx a million.now i have a question.what games can i run [PAL] or [NTSC] now i bought my wii at wal-mart in Florida so im assuming my wii only runs [NTSC] games .iso ..the reason im asking is because im looking for wii games on thepiratebay and i see mostly [PAL] wii games.Now can i convert the [PAL] games to [NTSC] ? or ?

sry if im confusing you because i just smoked out xD

You should now be able to play both Pal and Ntsc versions just force Ntsc in the backuploader's options and make sure not to let disk do ANY UPDATES I use wiizle Diizle Shiizle to remove updates and patch the game region here is a link for it.

Now once extracted run the program and at the top second tab is settings click on it set the language to what ever language you want, then set the region to your region Wii and click save. Now to load the iso image click file then open, locate the iso needing patched and select it. Once done you should see the game info and at the bottom three options: Patch Update, Patch Region, And Patch Both, if there is no update on the Iso you will only be able to patch the region, and if a update is on the Iso you should be able to select Patch Both if so select it. Once finished "only a few seconds" burn the image to disk as normal.

i did everything and my isos are playing fine except they are black and white. everything else works fine. any ideas???

Hmmm, let me start by asking a few questions so I can help you better
1.what region wii do you have NTSC or PAL?
2.What region disk are you trying to play?
3.Have you forced the video to your region in backup Loader's options?
4.Does it do this to all games?

only did it on two games and the rest play fine. as far as the region i'm not really sure. i will try to find out

This problem is solved by going back to step 2 and using the second link and continuing form there. BTW GREAT TUTORIAL!

When it does move up to and press left until you see ios36 then Select SD card and press A to continue, after this Select ios249 from wad folder and press A and change the action to "uninstall wad", and press A. Place both the apps and the wad folder to the root of your empty sd card and then to the Wii we go for the last time, Place the SD in wii and boot up, open the Homebrew channel and choose WADManagerv1.4, once loaded choose NeoGammaR7.wad "FOR DVD BACKUPS"and follow directions on screen to install. For Usbloading choose USB_Loader_GX-UNLR-r688.wad "For USB HARDRIVE LOADING" and follow on screen instructions to install.

You are now softmodded and ready to play backups on your 4.2u Wii. Hope it helps

That is never good.... To try and fix this you will need a Gamecube controller and follow this guide.

Hi, I'm doing your tutorial. It's is very nice! But in the 3rd step, I accidentally put one IOS than "Do not reload IOS". Later, I done like you said. Is there any problem that I should be worried about?
