I say Gamecube because even for a small system it showed it was more powerful (Graphics Wise) with games like Resident Evil 4. So whats you're opinion?

As much as I love sony products overall I say GC due to the fact that I dropped mine down two flights of stairs and it still works fine! In that time I have been through 2 ps2 and a ps3! I play eternal darkness and double dash all the time.

i would definitely have to go with ps2 because they had a better game library. Other than the nintendo exclusives gamecube didn't have much to offer. That was the system that nintendo didnt do too well on.

There is no better, there is only the games you personally like.

For me, the PS2 library is what I enjoy overall, but that doesn't mean the Gamecube is "worse" because of it.

Yes the Library of diverse games is the strongest point for PS2 But that 'cube controller is horrendous, tiny d-pad, tiny B button next to huge A button, out of the way Z button, & yellow stick was just a nub so it didn't have as much control over it as the main stick.

But Gamecube was the better multiplayer going for it.


Having said that if anyone is looking to get 1 of them right now I'd say PS2 simply because nintendo is lazy when it comes to getting non nintendo created games onto their systems so with such a small cache of good games available finding them for cheap will be hard. Plus the controllers can be used with Wii so getting them is a pain as well.

I would have to say that the PS2 was much better than the Gamecube, from a sales standpoint. Even today the PS2 holds the record for the number of consoles sold. The Gamecube on the other hand was known for being one of the worst consoles that Nintendo has produced. The only reason I am able to play GC games is because of my Wii being backwards compatible. I like them both just the same and cannnot choose between the two, I do like the PS2 controller better though.

modding. ps2, the gamecube sucked to mod.

the games. my kid likes GC more than I do, plus there is never enough audio, so there is always alot of reading. never really have to do that with ps2. ps2 has WAY better rpgs. that aside, if i had a bunch of friends over, i would bust out the GC with the 4 controllers and play some mario party or kart.

Cheap.

Extensive game library.

Easily moddable (you can also softmod it)

If you get a Phat PS2 with HDD adaptor, you can forget about DVDs (an Slim V12 PS2 works also with HDD but is more difficult because requires a lot of soldering)

If you don't want to mod it, there's a lot of games you can buy for a few bucks (I've got 20 top titles in mint condition for about 25 Euro in the [in] famous international auctions site you already know)

Cheap accessories.

Slim also comes with integrated LAN port.

You can use it to view video files from USB.

PS2 because of better game libary and modding. Modded my ps2 and now its PS2+PS1+NES+SNES+Genesis and media player XD
