excellent guide thank you

all worked for me except wad manager 1.4 to load neogamma 7 so i used an old wadmanager 1.3 and it went in fine.

all working with discs

Help someone hopefully im doing something wrong, ok i stuck on steps below..

11)now put your sd card back in your pc and unpack rar file SD2
12)copy this to the root of the sd card
13)rename boot.elf to boothackmii.elf
14)rename boot_wadmanager.dol to boot.dol
15)ok now put your sd card back in your wii
16)whilst in the homebrew channel click home on the wimote
17)click load bootmii
18)ok now cboot2 should load and after a while you should see wadmanager 1.5
19) press a to continue
20)choose wii sd slot
21)highlight IOS249.wad
22)press a to continue
23)press left arrow on wiimote
24)select uninstall wad
25)press a to uninstall IOS249.wad
26)when your done press home to return to wii system menu

Ok what the problem i have is when i select home in home brew channel to select bootmii witch i think just loads wad manager but it just reboots the console..??? so if i load through the banner way it loads wad manager 1.4 i do the steps select IOS249.wad and uninstall i get errors...

A small error I believe on line 57 should be Install IOS222 not IOSIOS223

30)ok now put the sd card back in the wii
31)start hbc again and click home button when your there
32)then click load bootmii 1 more time
33)ok at the next screen choose do not reload ios go all the way to the left to find this
34)then choose disable
35)now choose network install
36)ok cios38rev14 should now be installed
37)ok now click home and go back to hbc
38)ok now select dop-ios and click load
39)press right untill you see IOS53
40)press a to select yes to install sig and hash check
41)ok now select IOS55
42)press a to select yes to install sig and hash check
43)ok now select IOS70
44)press a to select yes ti install and sig hash check
45)ok now we need to install hermes cIOS
46)start hbc again
47)start anytitle deleter
48)ignore the error you get and press 1 if needed
49)go to system titles
50) delete IOS222 and IOS223
51)exit the app now
52)on the hbc select the top application
53)select IOS249 for install
54)install custom IOS222
55)use IOS38(recomended)
56)no restart this application
57)install custom IOS223
58)use IOS38 merged with IOS37
59)ok now its time to install backup and usb launcher
60)ok boot to hbc
61)start wad manager 1.5
62)select IOS249
63)if asked here select disable
64)choose wii sd slot
65)hilight neo gamma r7.wad and install it
66)hilight usb loader and install it
67)when done click home button on wiimote


CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY SOFTMODDED
YOUR 4.2E SYSTEM FIRMWARE WII ENJOY!!!!!

what message did you get when doing the steps to unistall the wad as i wrote above as i cant get passed that bit?

has anyone had any problems with not being able to play their original games once this has been done - i am about to try to softmod my 4.2e wii but a friend of mine says although he can now play backups he is unable to play his originals

Hi, thanks got it working this morning.

I had to download wadmanager 1.5.....open the file and copy over and overwrite the boot.dol in to 1.4 and then rename the folder 1.5.
Got usbloader and neogamma working.
THANKYOU ........now to put my 25dvds to my new Seagate 500gb drive

I can install the programs using ios250 and wadmanager 1.5 though, is this ok?

hmm, I really try not to ask questions when it comes to tutorials because I always get annoyed when I see the same question over and over again, but for some reason, when I hit the home button on the wii remote as instructed in step 16, i do not get the option in step 17 for load bootmii. Any suggestions?

edit, thought i should mention, i installed bootmii as boot2 as suggested

I followed the guide accordingly but then at the end wad manager 1.4 coudn't install neogamma or anything else for that matter! so i replaced it with 1.5 but like the others previously said it freezes after selecting ios249. After that i tried wad manager v1.1 and 1.3 but the both of them i couldn't launch. Could someone please help....this is like my 3rd or 4th guide im following, i am starting to give up over here.

by the way if anyone runs into trouble installing Gamma or USB loader in the last steps download WAD Manager 1.5 it worked then either that or it was a fluke cause I noticed in 1.5 that it asked me if I was to disable IOS249 when it didnt in 1.4

okay i followed the guide on page 1 on my 4.2E Wii (LEH2133) and everything went i fine i think. Apart from i had to use wad manager 1.5 rather than 1.4 to install neo gamma R7 and usb loader.

I imagined this would allow me to play backups by starting them thorugh neo gamma R7 but unfortunatly it doesnt, it just goes back to the wii menu after a short black then green screen.

I'm not able to try the usb way as i dont have a usb drive

what would people suggest? start over? or should i not be able to run backups anyway only usb?

hi iam having trouble modding my wii i get all the way to step 43 and i cannot find ios70 i got ios (78)any ideas would be nice or should i just carry on to step 44?
