I have lost count of how many turns I´ve played so far but with the ships, no chance of boarding the other vessels ....yet just giving them enough pepper to bring them down and as far as the naval support...it takes to freaken long to get there and when they do, the troops have already moved somewhere else, that´s what i dont like about this game but its quite a lot of fun in general terms.

Okay I seriously don't know what I'm doing wrong. I installed the game, copied the crackfix, tried to start the game, heard some ping sound and then nothing no error and no process starts. Similar thing happens if I install the game, copy skidrow crack and then crackfix.

Damn, can't believe there is still people with that "5gb patch thing"...that patch was released along with the release of fall of the samurai, it's inside of the game people.

glad to know that, but Did you use the installer from this thread only and apply the crackfix or have you ever applied the chinese release crack before ?

Can anyone post how they managed to make it work with the crackfix. I installed the game copied the crackfix and game doesn't start, no error and no process. The same happens if I first copy skidrow crack and then crackfix. Funny thing the game works with skidrow crack, but then of course game crashes due to copy protection.

FOTS is already up to date. You don't need to upgrade anything.

tanauser,people who buy orginal installs from disk then game connects to steam and download 5gb data;a security procedure.Shogun 2 installation from disk was same too.Some players wrongly thought this 5gb data is missing,but reality is it was already in skidrows release.

Ravinius,i installed skidrows release then copied crackfix.Game didn't start.As you said there was a voice in earphone that cpu is working with datas.I waited a little bit more and nothing happened.

I looked at task manager first tab and it was empty,shogun 2 fots exe wasn't there where it supposed to be.I looked at second tab of task manager and iexplore.exe was working with 175mb ram usage.But i wasn't using net so i thought games encyclopedia folder has explorer files maybe game is compling them.So i waited more but nothing change.

I looked at skidrow crack folder and russian guys crackfix folder.A text file named steam_appid was not in crackfix folder.I copied skidrows crack then i doubleclick the shortcut.I knew it wont work but i was curios what will happen.I saw a message window says steamapi.dll is missing.I copied crackfix and click yes when it asks overwrite.Doubleclick the shortcut and i saw a message window says play fots with the name of russian guy who made the crackfix,i click yes and the game started.

Another thing,it can be vc_redist file.When rots released i couldn't start the game,installation was right,all files are right,i checkhed them a lot of times but game did not start.Then neoiq5719 and tanauser give the tip.Theres a redist folder in game.There are three vc_redist files there.One of them was different.Noledox uploaded rots and all files.In his upload one of vc_redist file was different.After installing this vc_redist rots started working.Same thing happened to tanauser too.

kaplann your post got cut. I read somewhere that realplayer may be the cause. But I only got realalternative installed and even after uninstalling it shogun didn't start. As I said strange thing is the game start with skidrow crack but not with crackfix.

One reason why the game doesn't load can be because not all the packs got extracted
( check all the extracted packs & compare with a working game)
for me Game runs fluent ; untill now ....
Is there a Patch17 ?

Ravinius,i got the realplayer alternative and game is working.

Try using skidrow.ini file from skidrows crack.They are different in skidrows and russian guys crackfix.I am using skidrows ini file.

I read at totalwar support forums chrome has a known problem with game.Are you using chrome?

Amd bulldozer cpus have problems with shogun2 too.

tanauser,patch 17 released yesterday as a hotfix ofiicially after a little waiting russian or chineese guys take care of it.

No I'm not using chrome and as I said FoS starts with skidrow crack. I'll try juggling with crack and crackfix as you did and see if it helps.
