Yeah, I tried that quite a few different ways, but still got the runtime error. (e.g. as you suggested, with other versions of windows, with and without "run as administrator")

Alright, I finally fixed the runtime errror r6030.

I tried nearly everything that everybody suggested. On a reboot to try something, I noticed that my system has slowed down a lot over the months due to more and more programs starting up. I opened up msconfig.exe and went through all the services and startup programs and realized there are quite a few new ones. I started unchecking them and then rebooted, checked the total war using vovan's crackfix and it works. Awesome!

So basically, if you're getting the runtime error, go through and get rid of all the garbage starting up with your PC. One of those 3rd party programs is screwing you over. I hope that helps.

I didn't see any white armor yet in the Fall of the Samurai campaign. Do you want me to check the regular Shogun 2 campaign then? As far as Fall of the Samurai, I only played for about an hour. I wonder if white armor is a problem with the graphics card not rendering the armor for some reason. Possibly a driver issue?

I faced this problem for a very long time and couldn't find the problem. I discovered it was a program that secretly was running when I started my computer. The best thing for people with this problem is to go into the msconfig.exe file and minimize their startup tab and service tab to essential stuff, not all the extra junk. I hope my experience helps others.

Scroll back and see how I fixed it. I'm 99% sure it's a program running in the background that you aren't aware of. You can also go into the task manager and start killing programs left and right until you figure out which one is causing it.

When I go into the Shogun 2 and select a clan, the armor isn't white. It's all rendered just fine.

WARNING:

Please do not download the crack, it contains a trojan virus named steam_****er.dll. Luckily, my anti-virus caught it just in time. Mods please delete this thread.
