Same to me, I try with two diffrents install ... any ideas how to fix this or where is the problem ?

I still believe that they try to find ways to stop cracking their games that is why they force that stupid Server type DRM even for the single player part of the game...

Imagine playing a Single player game and suddenly your game stops responding just because your internet connection failed...

yea it is completely ridiculous they couldn't do an offline version for single player, they're sugar coating this DRM as "anti-hacker" but it's really just DRM that also happens to block hackers.

It's especially ridiculous considering the entire opening day of release had servers going down constantly, connection issues, etc so people couldn't even play the single player game lol

there will be NO crack . and if there is going to be crack its going to be shity and lagy bugy . and dont forget that your character is saved on the server so if you play on CRACK privet server and the server went down . NO MORE character... he is GONE and start looking for new shity server . LIKE WOW

so start save some moeny and get the game and have some fun

some of those who have legit copy is still having trouble creating their character..so think of it guys...i have a copy and so far no problem..u'll be waiting for a crack for a bit long time..

from blizzard's pov it's the only option. offline sp would mean that the game's server software (or at least a reduced version) would have to be on installed on the client's hdd. and easy access to some of the server files would mean easier developement of private servers and more hacks/cheats on the official servers.

offline sp would also mean that your offline savegames are on your hdd in addition to all the game's core gameplay files (like e.g. loot tables, skill/stat progression, ai/quest scripts). this would open up even more opportunities for hackers/cheaters.

don't get me wrong. i'm not a fan of this solution, i for myself don't understand why so many players don't game for the fun but for the fame (i e.g. don't care about who's got the first lvl80 char and i think it's stupid to use hacks/cheats to achieve things like that), but blizzard had to react to the situation with d2 and especially with an auction house where manipulations due to hacks/cheats could cost their customers real money i understand why blizzard enforces the client/server connection even for sp. will it prevent cheats/hacks completely? i highly doubt it.
