Dont download this game. Dont buy it. Somewhat of a fan of GTA series, I can say this: PIECE OF CRAP!!! Bought it today. Came home and installed it. F***ed with the protection system for about half an hour. The game only runs in safe mode, all settings at low, 800x600.

My PC is a freaking core2duo 3GHz; 4GB RAM + Sapphire Radeon 4870 512MB and it cannot do better than 800x600??? If you change resolution to a better one, the computer restarts. If you run it not in safe mode it restarts. When you play the gfx is unbearable. Shadows "flick" as if there was a stroboscope in the game instead of the sun.

It's not just my problem - have a look around forums. PATHETIC.

i have the haxxored version with the cam bug and i can play it with all settings maxed out at 1680x1050 and im getting 45fps with the inbuilt benchmark(c2d@3.6 4gb 8800gts512 512mb). game runs smooth as silk.
i think they did a great job with the engine. looks amazing, runs fast.
im still waiting for a crack that fixes the antipiracy easter eggs grrrr...

I remember back in 1997 when i first played GTA 1 on a friends computer using his pentium 90. The game ran perfectly; no lag, no crashes, no bugs.

Today it's all about frame rate, draw distance, graphics cards and direct xyz. I say, fu*k that sh*t, I just want a game that does what it should and not glitch-out every time i move my character.

I have a computer with roughly the same stats as yours. I bought call of duty 5 and i have to play it on the lowest settings and i still get lag. I bought GTA 4 yesterday, it's getting posted to me tomorrow. I know it's gonna lag but I'm not gonna buy a new computer every 2 months just so I can play the latest game.

All we can do is b*tch and moan on the forums.

I wish the game's rating would automatically make this thread R18 as well. I still have some $90 worth of nasty scrabble to play.

btw in here the PC version costs twenty dollars cheaper than XBOX or PS3 - kinda weird
