lol, I only have my useful stuff on my desktop =]] (I don't like using docks) and thus all that stuff that may seem like junk I use on almost a daily basis

I know it's alot, but it could be worst... I could copy everything in my start menu onto my desktop LOL! I would have to change the resolution for that -_-'''

I used to only have one or two rows of icons when my pc only had 256mb ram but seeing as I upgraded it I can have alot on there without making a difference

Lol, ok cos when I had it installed on Vista Ultimate, it'd open up fine and everything but when I try to record something I don't get the cursor that lets me select the area Id like to record.

edit - nm, finally got it working.

Used to be alot better, but i haven't had time to sort it out.
Need to update it with new icons and a new wallpaper.

not long, I would have thought, unless he still uses FAT32.
however, seeing as the majority of people now use NTFS the more icons = slower startup is no longer a fact.. for example here's my desktop:

it takes 3-5 seconds to load, Because I use ntfs.. however if I used FAT32 it would take about 10 seconds to load because of all the stuff.

BTW: that's 106 icons I have... alot.. maybe I should make a launcher
