U.S. Lt. Tommy Hart (Colin Farrell) may be a WWII soldier, but he's managed to stay far from the front lines thanks to his father's political clout. When he's captured by Nazi troops and thrown into a P.O.W. camp, the war might just as well be over for him, but the challenge has just begun. Behind barbed wire, Hart is resented by the soldiers who really fought. When the compound's lone black inmate is accused of murdering a white inmate, the tough commanding officer (Bruce Willis) assigns Hart, formerly a Yale law student, to defend the prisoner in a makeshift trial.
