After scoring the top debut a couple of weeks back, Psy overtook some of South Korea's biggest girl groups -- 2NE1, T-ara, and SISTAR -- to rule the most recent K-Pop Hot 100 chart with his addictive new single "Gangnam Style."

Amidst a summer of idols making their comebacks, Psy has proved he can compete on the charts with the ridiculous "Gangnam Style." Gangnam is an affluent part of South Korea's capital, Seoul, likened to Manhattan or Beverly Hills. Psy's take on Gangnam's "style" is a reference to fancy living and in the song is used to impress a love interest over a European influenced dance backing.
While the song plays all the right moves sonically (borrowing from LMFAO along the way), Psy also satisfies viewers in the accompanying music video. The must see clip (with almost nine million views) shows Psy lurking in an occupied hot tub, disturbing a group of young females' yoga session, and recruiting some senior citizens for his pink party bus.

The now-signature horseracing dance move has also gone viral as with Psy's fellow stars of K-pop. On a recent broadcast of SBS Inkigayo (a weekly Korean music performance TV show) popular girl groups SISTAR, After School, and two members of Kara joined the veteran rapper for a collaboration to remember. Don't expect this craze to die down anytime soon as both the public and idols have all embraced Psy's latest creation.
