I just watched this yesterday. It wasn't as good as TDK and I really felt it was more of a "fourth" movie. I reckon if they'd had a movie inbetween BB and TDK, they could have showcased Catwoman (and maybe someone else) and built some sexual tension there which could been there in TDKR.

There was about 9 months between the events of BB and TDK. That means Bruce was Batman for all of about a year before jacking it in. This is what really peeved me off.

Have to agree with you guys. This film is not as good as Dark Knight. There was too much self-pity for my taste. Man, eight years and still not moved on... I expected more from Batman.

But this is not the Batman in the comics, this is Nolan's Batman. He KILLED Harvey Dent and 5 people in the process of saving Gordon's son and Gotham. Shouldn't he feel guilty?

I actually found the show to be very good. It portrays that Batman is an everlasting symbol, as mentioned in Batman Begins. (Most of the conversations between characters were about a symbol). Most scenes were dramatic and emotional. Most people say that there were numerous loopholes in the movie, however those loopholes can be easily explained if one was closely paying attention to the movie. The ending was excellent and I felt there was no other better way to end the trilogy, simple and it speaks for itself. But that's just my opinion anyway.

Completely agree about this. He was guilty about a lot of things, including Rachel's death. I think it reminded me of "The Dark Knight Returns" when he goes into self-imposed retirement. I just wish it had happened later.

I think I agree with what Nolan was trying to do - ie show that Batman is a symbol but anyone can be that symbol. What I hated was the way it all happened. I don't think any of the new characters were properly fleshed out. Either it should have been longer or may be a two-parter.

I quite enjoyed the movie and thought it was a good ending to the trilogy. Of course it didn't top DK, but I went in expecting that.

I honestly thought TDKR was much better than TDK. I saw this one as having more depth, and more danger. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
