Silver Linings Playbook
This movie is good as a drama with comedy-sprinkles and it's fantastic as an ensemble-film! Lawrence and Cooper are both great at portraying their crazy yet sympathetic character, and De Niro hasn't been this good in a long time (he keeps his usual mannerisms down to a minimum). I had a great time watching this.

Seeking a friend for the End of the World
A feelgood movie about the end of the world, ha! Loved it! It's got some laughs but it's not a comedy, the overall tone is rather melancholic. And Steve Carell is a marvel to watch. Like Jim Carrey he is a great actor, and always best in his serious parts (like Little Miss Sunshine or Dan in real Life). Even Keira Knightley didn't manage to ruin this movie (and that's saying a lot). Great!

Rites of Spring
This Horror/Thriller bastard is interesting, yet far from perfect. There's nothing in this movie that you haven't seen before, yet how the writer/director arranges the well-known elements and how he joins the two (initially) seperate plotlines is actually good. The end sucks though, and is obviously done the way it is to set up a sequel. Nevertheless, a Horror film fan can't go wrong with this.

The Place Beyond The Pine 7/10
I very much "enjoyed" Derek Cianfrance's Blue Valentine, so I had high expectations going in. While I did enjoy this, I feel that the final act falls a bit short; especially since in the first act Gosling puts forth an amazing showing, so I found it kind of hard to top.

Saw Snitch the other day. Good film. Intense, emotional, suspenseful. And it has Jon Bernthal in it, he plays an ex con, but a reformed one. I'm looking forward to seeing his new tv show LA Noir on TNT. The Rock kicked ass as usual, just on a more subdued level.
