Well since Stargate Universe is now Officially on the way the TPTB have stated they are looking to to cast a known actor for one of the leading roles, and fresh faces to round out the cast.

I would love Michael Shanks(Daniel Jackson SG1) to take the lead role but the producers have said that the series will be a seperate entity from both SG1 and Atlantis so this seems Highly Unlikely. Ive put a small list together including images of actors who i think could be suitable for the lead role so could you guys let me know what u think and also include any ideas you may have on the new cast. ei. lead role

Hmm... I'm very unsure weather it will be. Apparently they're looking for a "younger" cast... So some cocky 19 year olds thinking they are better than everyone, and don't need orders.

Yeah, they wanted the show to appeal to the younger fan base, so its probably a bunch of young hot looking guys and girls.

Could even turn out to be a Dawson's Creek Goes To Space thing, lol

it'll probably be good for the new fans, because they would have to come up with new ideas that fits the modern TV trend. Shows like the old Stargate or Star Trek follows a formula that was good back then, but for younger fans, they may not like it. That's what they meant when they say the show would be more on character developement and less SciFi. that basically describe many modern TV shows such as Lost or Prison Break or new Terminator TV show thing that everyone is crazy over.

Another good example would be Smallville. Its the new show based on old Superman story that appeals to younger audience, and it was indeed succesful.

This is what Stargate Universe would be. It will not be the same as the old SG-1 and Atlantis, just base on the same background story, but with a completely new formula

And most old Stargate fan may not enjoy it though.

Maybe majority of the fans won't enjoy it but still looking forward to it since I been watching Stargate series since I was a kid!

Michal Shanks is coming to some scifi convention in NZ next month maybe il ask him for a lil inside scoop for TP users hahaha

filming starts in feb 2009. kinda glad universe will be militant based again.

i feel bummed atlantis has been axed. if only they were given notice like lost and alias, could the series be prepared for its end. :(

sad that atlantis ends but one of the fans i think the universe gonna be disaster.But still waiting for the best.
