"Greatest Films" to me, are the movies I can watch forever n ever, and still get that same feeling in various parts of my body I got from watching them the first time around. The ones you would bring to that island where you're only allowed five (most of y'all are a bunch of cheaters lol). No order, here we go... Aliens (1986) - This movie just got it all and unlike most of the genre, it DOESN'T AGE. Everything (except the hair cuts) looks just as cool and/or scary today as it did 25 years ago. The best movie of the series and the greatest action/horror/sci-fi movie of all time. A Fish Called Wanda (1988) - My definition of "hilarious". OK, Sir Lancelot's heroic rescue also comes to mind, but this is a way better MOVIE. How many times have I quoted Otto over the years? Never drink beer in front of your screen while watching AFCW. Molto pericoloso... Sword of the Stranger (2007) - No, it's not original and yes, it could've used a lil more meat on it, but this film got such HEART, it just drilled its way into mine and stayed there. They actually made me fear for the well-being of a japanimated lil dog. Nuff said The Warriors (1979) - The most bad-ass comic book movie ever. You either get it or you don't. So the question is: "Can You Dig It?" Princess Mononoke (1997) - Gorgeous animation, beautiful soundtrack and a gripping story with so many jaw-dropping moments it's almost surreal. The ultimate animated fairy tale so far. The Lion what? Beauty and the who? Nah, this is it, right here. |

Pulp Fiction Natural Born Killers The Big Lebowski The Godfather Reservoir Dogs Since the thread is called “5 Greatest Films”, I didn’t include "Wall Street". It’d be number 6. I couldn’t disagree more with some of my predecessors but I guess everyone is entitled to their own taste and that’s a good thing |
