Half Life 2 Special Edition

This "Special Edition" of Half-Life 2 contains some extra goodies over the normal Half-Life 2 as you can see below:

Half-Life 2 on DVD-ROM
Counter-Strike: Source - The next generation of the #1 online action game
Half-Life: Source - Digitally remastered version of the original acclaimed PC game

Instructions:
Now, simply copy the following files from the "Crack" directory (i.e. in the original install files) into the directory listed above

Start hl1.bat
Start hl2.bat
Start hl2mp.bat

Now just click on whichever .bat file you want to play.
NO PASSWORD

Is there a faster way to get these files? Because I really, really want these but I dont wanna wait 173 minutes per download :(

No unless you get a premium account on rapidshare or u can find the torrent for this game but it still will take awhile to download

To be honest, spending that little bit of cash for a premium account is well worth it, considering all the things you are downloading.

i agree, its well worth the money. if not, have a look around for a premium link generator. i think i saw one on the forum here, but my search came up empty. ill edit with a link if i find one.
its much more awkward than a premium account though.

Alright, I decided I'm going to buy a premium account for 48 hours to get this.

Can anyone give me a little tutorial on how to compile all these files together to make them work?

Download all the files, then extract HL2SE.part01.rar using winRAR or 7zip.

Don't mean to be annoying here.. but I got it working, but for some reason, in the Launcher, when I check the online button to yes, I cant load up the games, I get an error? Why is that? Is there anyway to get around it?

yeah i'm also wondering if you need steam to play this(i really dislike steam). i'm fine with not being able to play it online but i'd love to try the story mode.
