First of all, sorry for my bad english.

is this movie really related to the Force Of Buddha's Palm mahua/comic?

in my opinion, it is not. well, this is just my opinion only, though.

first of all, the characters name are not similar. then also the storyline is not the same at all. if I am not mistaken, this movie produce by Shaw Brothers in 1982 while Tony Wong's manhua was probably written in later year & published in Hong Kong around 1986-1988.

Basically, Tony Wong's Force Of Buddha's Palm LOOSELY 'adopt' the storyline of an wuxia novel by somebody (I can't remember, Jin Yong, Gu Long or some name). I don't know the title of the novel but, there are also many version of movies, TV series based on this novel. Also, I read one manhua based on this novel drawn by Ho Zhi Wen. I dont know the original title of this comic and its publication in any country but for sure this Ho Zhi Wen comics was published in Malaysia and Indonesia and entitle "Wira Kembar" literally means "Twin Worrior". One of the TV series title that i can remember is "Proud Of Twins"

chances are, Tony Wong 'adopt' the wuxia novel storyline & martial art from the Buddha's Palm movie to make his comic Force Of Buddha's Palm. This is not a fact, only my opinion

Can't recognize which part of the story it's based on though.

As far as I know, Jademan was Tony Wong's first company. He was caught using the company's money for personal means and that's why he was sento to jail. Once free he returned the money and founded his present company. That's why there are 2 Oriental Heroes series: The first one is from Jademan and the second is published in the new company, following the story where it was left before Mr. Wong went to jail.

BTW Batman: Hong Kong (Tony Wong's take on Batman) was published in 2003.

Hmm. You might have a point there... I know there is a Buddha's Palm comic (you can see the drawings at the movie intro), but maybe it isn't the same as Force of Buddha's Palm. I thought the different story could be because the story they published in the U.S. was miscontinued... Seems I was wrong... my bad

As an apology here's Stormriders Chapter 01 :p.

I have some english scans of Four Constables too... Should I upload them? (Random preview follows)

Eilyc helpfully posted a link to a massive Rapidshare collection of over 1000 issues of Oriental Heroes. Many of these were single issue uploads, so I am undertaking to reupload these all together.

This is going to be a living post, as I continually upload these massive Megaupload compilations of Oriental Heroes, Chinese Edition.

Enjoy!

please, no need to apology. but the link you provided is very much appreciated... :)

by the way, I just realized that the Buddha's Palm martial art has already exist in wuxia novel long before the movie was produced. meaning that, the Buddha's Palm martial art technique is not originated from the movie. so, probably Tony Wong get the idea about this martial art technique long before the movie came out. sorry, my bad also...

regarding the Four Constable Manhua, YES please... upload them for us... :) we would be happy with those...

Original scanner's blog

By the way, thanks a lot Hedron first because the great job you are doing with the scans, and second because it's really hard to find manhua in english... Hopefully your work will make people star liking this kung fu comics more! :D

I managed to get a complete manhua scans from a buddy.

The bad news are:
1. It is in Indonesian language - Well, not a bad news for people who can understand Indo
2. It is in a very-very low quality/resolution - These scans are originated neither from me or him/her. So I am very sorry, I could not do anything regarding the quality.

I can read a little bit of Indonesian, but not much. If anybody couldn't read these & wonder what happen in the comics, I can summarized them for you later. Tell me if any of you do want me to do so.

Tapak Sakti (equivalent to The Force Of Buddha's Palm in US). but with a minor difference between those two version (mostly due to CENSORSHIP on sex element ), plus longer continuity than US.

Since Buddha's Palm has very little overt sex, the Indonesian censorship must have made the series look racier than it actually was. Thank you for the amazing gift.

I just checked some other sources, this appears to be the complete upload of the Indonesian version of Buddha's Palm. Here's another source:

How odd, bad site maybe? The part that is asterisked out is t35 dot com

What a great surprise to peek at the final issues of the American point, and find that Iron Boy indeed survived! He was just playing dead.

We would all appreciate a summary of subsequent issues, thank you!

No, it is the same precise source. But maybe some people don't have Megaupload. :)

Interestingly, Grafity seems to have some other Tong Wong series. I'll be downloading those to check them out.
