Good question. For many years, I thought that Jademan failed completely. Instead, they continued publishing the Chinese versions of their comics for several years. On earlier pages of this thread, you can find links for those Chinese issues which go over 1000 issues.

Getting started on Blood Sword Dynasty. Here's the 3-page poster from the Blood Sword Gallery, newly scanned and rendered into one Photoshop image:

As if that weren't enough, I uploaded one of my personal favorite concerts, a Johnny Cash Tribute that aired on American television in 1999:

Hedron, you rock!

2 years ago when I searched the internet for Oriental Heroes, I only get jademan special issue and a couple of low resolution issues. Now it is complete!

Kurt.rock, that issue 163 is absolutely rare. Thank you for providing it.

Thanks, friends.

By the way, I obtained the Dragon Tiger Gate DVD from yesasia. For those interesting in purchasing Jademan collections featured on this thread, here is a link to Oriental Heroes and Drunken Fist (artist listed as Chun Lung Wong)

Edited to add: The Force of Buddha's Palm is also listed here as Ru Lai Shen Zhang. This is really cool, as these are apparently the adventures of Nine Continents before the American story of the Twins. (These were alluded to in the series, such as his fight with 'Hillbilly', and his love Sui Swan.)

Here's a little treat as I work on Blood Sword related stuff...

These are all the Chinese Hero/Chung Wah Ying Hung/Blood Sword covers at Fran Kan's site. (There's also 20 Blood Sword Dynasty covers in there.)

Default The Complete Oriental Heroes

The Complete Oriental Heroes
Jademan Comics
scanned by Hedron (#2 scanned by HeadKase)

Someone requested that I make a single post for the entire series. After the labor involved in all those scans, I put off the easiest part. Enjoy.

Oriental Heroes 01 Poster - smaller (7 megabytes)

(The above poster was an early attempt. This is the full resolution poster, complete overkill)
Oriental Heroes 01 Poster - full resolution (14 megabytes)

Jademan Kung Fu Special (scanned by Hung)

Remember those Iron Marshal and Blood Sword art galleries I published earlier in this thread? They were at best approximations. I lacked the software needed for over-sized scans. Now I'm going to be working on redoing those galleries, and other Jademan odds and ends (such as their advertising flyers).

Until then, here is a sample of my new scanning capabilities:

Blood Sword Dynasty 01-09 (English translation of 41 total issues)
Jademan comics
scanned by Hedron

What Has Gone Before: Blood Sword Dynasty continues the story of Hero Hua and his son, Kim Hung. A child of destiny, Kim was separated from his twin sister at birth, and raised by the doctor Sanglo. In his younger days, Sanglo had been taught the Fathomless Sea Palm (Infinite Surge) by Infinite Seeto. Infinite Hedron kung fu consists of seven (known) moves. Sanglo's kung fu power is immense from this single move, yet he only uses it for self-defense.

Reaching the age of fifteen, Kim Hung fled the throne as the 17th king of China's Hell Clan. He adventured in America where he met his father for the first time. He refused his dad's offer to teach him Infinite Hedron kung fu, stating that he had to find his own way. The Founder of Hell Clan visited Kim in dreams through the sacred artifact of the Tino Umbrella, teaching him Butterfly Dream Palm/Dream Note kung fu. This allows him to control or weaken other fighters (think 'Jedi mind trick').

While in America, Kim was befriended by Zeo, the beautiful daughter of Ghost Server. Ghost Server and Hero go way back, it is interesting that fate should entwine their children. Believing his father killed by the Invincible Samurai, Kim Hung returns to mainland China, to rejoin Sanglo and his life there. Yet destiny has a way of catching up to the Hua family, and trouble comes looking for Kim Hung.

The Art of Blood Sword Dynasty: The artwork for Blood Sword Dynasty in one word: exquisite. Ma Wing Shing's artwork makes every person looks great, like Greg Land of today. Everyone looks gorgeous, and there is a sweeping, cinematic look to the kung fu that conveys movement and multiple actions beyond a static comic panel.

The Smell of Jademan: I wish I could convey what it was like to buy this comic new. Due to the foreign dyes and printing methods, each new comic had a unique smell. It smelled exotic and far away, conjuring images of distant Hong Kong, where it was printed. The smell has faded over time, but the memory of that experience remains.

Scanning Note: Comparing these new 2010 LIDE 210 scans to my 2006 Memorex scans, Blood Sword Dynasty was badly in need of a rescan. The colors are corrected, the text is no longer blurry, and bleed-through to other pages is much lessened. This is the scan this comic deserves.

Issues 01-09: Arrogant Kim Hung is very sure of himself, with consequences for friends and foes alike. Is he a worthy heir to his father's legacy? Time will tell.

Remember that my links for The Blood Sword original series are still active on this page:

HOW TO VIEW MY SCANS
I recommend using the freeware program Cdisplay. Go to Configure and choose 'Fit Width C+W'. This fills the screen perfectly, then tap space to read.

Wedhok PMed me on whether he could start reading Blood Sword Dynasty as a new reader, or go back to The Blood Sword. Here's my answer, which may be of interest to others:

Quote:
Hi Wedhok,

Yes, the story is connected, but you can start right now on Blood Sword Dynasty. It's a new series that introduces an all new setting and characters, so it's perfect for a new reader. The Blood Sword shows a younger Hero and Kim Hung in America. Blood Sword Dynasty sticks to adventures in mainland China, an exciting and mysterious land.

My summary on the post tries to bring the reader up to speed on events that will unfold in Blood Sword Dynasty, based on what has gone before in The Blood Sword.

For instance, Sanglo and Hero had many adventures in The Blood Sword, long before Sanglo was left to raise Kim Hung as his 'grandfather'. (In reality, no relation to the Hua family.)

Blood Sword Dynasty has a much more 'advanced' story than The Blood Sword, and the villains are entirely new and separate. Start here, I did!

Several months ago I came across all my Jademan comics. I promised to get them scanned and help fill in the blanks or find out what needed filled. I also came across some other Kung Fu comics I had when I was a kid back ages ago :) But, shortly after finding that, and I mean within days, my wife and I found out that our landlord sold the house we were renting and had to find a new place. Now they are in that box again somewhere in my garage again. When I come across them again, I will instead scan the off brand Kung Fu comics since there are already fine people doing the Jademan stuff here. But, coming across that box will be a while. Just wanted to let people know so I don't seem like a total douche. And, I really wish to thank Hedron for all his work. I totally forgot about my Jademan comics until I saw this thread! Oh, the good news is all my Jademan are complete but a little water damaged, but I also somehow ended up with my brothers collection and they are all in mint condition and he doesnt want them at all. So, they are mine to scan when I can.
