The eleventh season of American Idol premiered on Fox on January 18, 2012. The show airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c.[1] Ryan Seacrest returns as host,[2] while Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler[3] and Jennifer Lopez all return as judges. Interscope Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine, a songwriter and producer, also returns as an in-house mentor to work with the contestants on a weekly basis. No other major changes in the judging panel were planned this season.[4] This season will follow the same format as season 10, although a new title screen and logo has been created, with a different font. Many international broadcasters aired the show two days after the US screening.
