Softmod Info & Compatibility:
This section is devoted to any helpful tips that I have recieved for making the discs load for softmod users.
All of my personal posts (excluding Guitar Hero & Rock Band releases) have been tested and work on a D2CPro chipped Wii running version 3.1U. Some require removing updates, changing region (for me PAL to NTSC) or setting them to auto load to bypass the update.
Soft Moding info provided by SorazLight: "The guide might work for ppl under 4.2 , if you need I found a great guide that works for 4.2 any maybe not 4.2k , even I was able to understand it lol . The games that I tested worked with neogamma , NSMBW-prefixed disc-,Super Mario Galaxy , One piece unlimited1, Pikmin , etc
Guide is available here:
"Getting Sarted/How To Softmod Info" courtesy of Gandolph13's leg work:

For softmod users the following info has been provided as a courtesy by serveral of our members:
All posts (tested so far) work flawlessly with a softmod consisting of: Backup Launcher Gamma, error 002 fix, CIOS36 rev8, on a NTSC V 3.3U Wii
Exceptions: Call of Duty 3, Splinter Cell, SSX Blur, Super Swing Golf
These titles require that you patch the ISO image to IOS249 (easily done using Waninkoko IOS Patcher V1.1) New Exceptions report: here's how one of our members got these new titles (Ghostbusters, MySims Racing & Indiana Jones Staff Kings) working:
-Updated my cIOS to "cIOS38 rev13b".(Yes I know they recommend going with "cIOS38 rev13" and not "cIOS38 rev13b" but I'll explain why I went with cIOS38 rev13b".)
-The faster loading speeds and other benefits with cIOS38 rev13 are positive and nice indeed, and will play these newer "002b" titles indeed ,but, some (not all ),but some older games (wich required the 002 fix or other fixes ) no longer play and now give your green screens or error 002 for games that used to run fine.So to try and get the best of both worlds if you will, I went with "cIOS38 rev13b" this way all my older games play as they used to and all I need to cope with is changing one setting in "NeoGamma R4" to get the newer games working. Not a big deal and alot easier than going back and forth changing/upgrading the cIOS every time I get an error alternating between older and newer titles.
The setting that needs to be switched in "NeoGamma R4" is in the "Anti-002 Fix" option found in "Config options" by default it is set to "NO" witch is fine for playing the regular games. If you want to run the "002b" games like "MySims Racing,Ghostbusters,Indiana Jones...etc (and more to come I'm sure), you will need to switch this "Anti-002 Fix" option to "YES" using your control stick. It's that simple.
Please keep in mind that by default "NeoGamma R4" forces Video Region (NTSC/PAL) to "Disc Region".Wich works fine for me.You can switch this setting as well pending what your Region is.(haven't tested switching regions cause I tend to get as often as possible the disc region matching my system region.)So the default "Disc Region" setting always works and is safe for me.
So with being all said, this works for me:
1.update your cIOS to "cIOS38 rev13b".
2.Install "NeoGamma R4"
3.Play older/existing Titles using Backup Launcher as before or with "NeoGamma R4".
4.Play newer "002b" Titles using WiiPower's "NeoGamma R4" (setting "Anti-002 Fix" setting to "YES")
Please Note that WiiPower's official "NeoGamma R4" is run through "HBC".However ,for those who prefer channels some Channels already exist too.

Here is xzxero 's Newbie "Softmod How To" Guide. Lots of good info for those attempting softmod loads:
The following is in reference to Metroid Prime Trilogy courtesy of davemm:
For USB loaders, easiest way is:
1) Insert the Disc and launch NeoGamma R7/USB Loader and launch game without alt. dol and create a save file
2) Turn the 002 Fix and alt. dol on and select the .dol from discs, if you want to play a game, you select its .dol so:
a) rs5mp1_p.dol = Metroid Prime 1
b) rs5mp2_p.dol = Metroid Prime 2
c) rs5mp3_p.dol = Metroid Prime 3
3) Select the .dol for the game you want to play, the game will launch directly and will not load the trilogy menu.
Guitar Hero 5 load fix courtesy Davemm
Guitar hero 5 has some problems with softmodded wii's
can be fixed by using Hermes cIOS 223 with IOS37 merged with 36.
You can also install the new ios56 by extracting the IOS56-64-V5146.wad , which you can get by opening the iso in WiiScrubber and extracting the wad from Parition 1.
Per Sickpuppy1:
Hermes installer v4 is out, install IOS22 as IOS38 merged with IOS37, install IOS223 as IOS38 merged with IOS60, Guitar Hero and Rock Band games and games that use the microphone will now use IOS222 after installing Hermes ciOS installer v4. Per lizard81288 leg work: Getting past the freeze issue
- Stand near your Wii and get ready to eject the disc.
- Go into the game, load Aftermath from Mission Select.
- Immediately after you press it, right as the loading bar appears, eject the disc.
- You should get a message saying "Insert Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition" or something along those lines. You heard the Wii, insert that ***** up!
- You'll be all loaded and past the cutscene, onto the Aftermath "level" (since it's a movie, right? I was too busy posting this to watch).
- Have fun with Act II and the rest of the game! You'll need to do this EVERY TIME you want to see Aftermath again. However, all the other levels load fine so far.
Thanks goes to profscam for providing the video (link below if you want to see it) and the info.

the basics.
What i did to get NSMB wii to work was:
load the backup using neogamma (thru homebrew) with "search patch" option on
got greenscreen and error (guide said i was supposed to, makes a config. file)
downloaded the patches (NSME and NSMB.wip) (pretty sure names are right.)
Put patches on SD card, then re-run game.
works no prob now.

Softmodding info update...new releases etc.....from hounddog4:
Just wanted to keep you in the loop of things regarding softmods.
For starters, cIOS38 Rev17 is out now and it's near flawless thus far.Now to frost the cake we also have the latest NeoGamma to tag along as well. NeoGamma R8 RC1. To my knowledge there's nothing thid combo can't play ...yes even NSMB straight up unpatched ,unmodified or fixed while also playing the "fixed" version as well. Feedback is overwelmingly positive on this cIOS.
I know a while back I had sent you links (which you posted ) to rev 13 and 13b along with NeoGamma link as well, but you might want to post new links to the newest versions now as well. Your call mate. It might solve the numerous questions I'm sure you're getting for soft-mods.
So here are some direct links to the new versions if you want them. You might want to download them and re-up them yourself to Mega Upload so you can re-up if necessary. Like I said these are not my own links.

FYI, we also have an NeoGamma R8 RC1 Autoboot in the works. It's in testing stage now works great so far,no issues whatsoever.Should be a final version in the next couple of days if no issues occur.I'll Keep you posted on this one too.
Update:
The Autoboot testing stage seems complete now and xflak40 has released a nice bundle for us. Here's the link to the post on GBAtemp.

Sam & Max 2 Per Lightyear420:
I tried running this from USB loader GX, and it restarts the wii after you click the mission....it loads to black screen & restarts the whole system....it does run from disk, however. Using cioscorp 3.6 and cios38 rev 18 it's glitchy from disk....neogamma rc5 loads it flawlessly from disk.
Monster Hunter Tri NTSC Per Johnny5o:
If you Load Monster Hunter Tri (3) off a USB HD then you will want to select Jap language and force NTSC video using ISO 223 Hermes v.4 if you do this correctly then when you select to begin new game you will not get that awful buzzing sound and the game should load right up. Customize a character and have fun.
More info for MHT from ikarodemon and GBAtemp:
In all honesty not much has changed from the NTSC-J release of the game. There are a ba gillion guides to get this running but let's break it down for all of you again. [Sorry if your specific loader isn't on here but hey... as long as it works]
