I use a program called "leawo video converter"

.mkv and .mp4 is are both the lowest compression and keep the good quality.

Set to custom on video and audio with codec H.264

I personally like .mp4 for mobile use.

The program allows full management of your video file.
Crop, resolution, time, split, etc.
Can multi-convert

So I can get 24mins. under 200MB on Mediafire without parts :3
My thread for example

I don't know much about encoding, but I do know that a lot of encoders of anime learned how to encode from the encoding guides at Doom9.net.

http://www.doom9.org/
As for program, doom9 recommends using the latest version of "GordianKnot",i believe they are refering to the rip pack, but i'm not 100% sure.

Don't bother with Xvid/DivX/H.263 nonsense. Is it because you have a DivX player at home? If so, throw it in the bin and get with the times. For as little as £20/$30 you can buy an MKV player that outputs 1080p. Or pay a bit more and get a Blu-Ray player that also has this functionality.

For the same file size, MKV/H.264 encoding is much better quality.
