Default Blocking error message with Jdownloader

Hello,
I've been searching the forum, and via Google too, but I can't find any recent or clear answer to the problem I've been having with Jdownloader these last days.
Please don't be too harsh if the answer lies somewhere within the forum, I really didn't find it ^_^

I keep having a "no permission to write disk" when I download compressed files (.rar, .zip). Jdownloader starts the dl, then stops after just a few seconds. No problem when I dl video files, like .mkv
Everything is fine when I download directly from the host, but JD is way easier to queue multiple files.

I tried deactivating my antivirus real time protection, but it does not seem to work.
My JD is up to date. I almost only use RS, could it be the problem?

what AV and firewall are you running?

because it seems like a firewall problem.

@pkg81
Thanks, but I already found this answer, and on other sites people say it's not the cause.
I tried deactivating every protection: antivirus, firewall, and the problem is still there...
And I didn't change anything recently: same antivirus, same firewall, etc...
I wondered if it might come from RS, but I can't find any clue on that.

@robbo0000
I have more than 1To free on this disk, and when I download directly from the host it works perfectly fine.
I don't use Mediafire at all, maybe it's RS then?
Still, why would it stop only with compressed files and not video files? I just tried dl a mkv, and it's OK

Thanks to both of you for trying to help!

after a lot of reading it is no doubt a jdownloader problem , did you just recently update it ??

try reinstalling it

1) Reduce the Max.Con. setting (bottom right corner of jD window) to 1.

2) Allow java and javaw in your firewall and virus software.

3) Disable the port 80/html/web scanner in virus software.

4) Un-install your firewall and reboot PC (this is safe when you've a firewall in your router).

5) Un-install virus software and reboot PC.

6) A torrent client is using too many connections; stop the client.

7) JRE version 1.6.0_17 ("http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u17/index.html") is the last a good version that's compatible with jD; remove more recent versions; use 32 bits JRE for Vista and W7. EDIT: JRE version 1.6.0_21 is a good version as well.

8) You've an unstable internet connection, contact you ISP.

I usually update JD when updates are available.
I already tried some of the solutions you suggest... I'll check the others and give them a shot.
Thanks!

I've had this annoying problem, many times in fact!
but the problem isn't your disk or AV or firewall (well, maybe firewall). my problem was because of my internet connection! something like too soon EOF or like that. you should probably check that! if you're using a VPN, look no further...

Thanks for the advice, but nothing seems to be wrong with my connection... and why would it only affect compressed files dl? I can dl a 2Go mkv without any problem, but I can't even dl a 50mo rar...

I've had the same problem and as above, many times. Plenty of space, updated, re-installed, etc. When it happens I usually just find another source and carry on. Thanks nomoon, for bringing it up.

Well I guess I'll have to do the same, and if it keeps on stopping like that maybe I'll try another software like Mipony.
Strange to see so many users sharing the same problem, and still to be unable to find any clear and definitive answer...

Anyway, thanks to each of you for being so quick to help!

Yeah a real shame Nomoon , maybe you could try IDM ( internet download manager ) for those files until this is sorted

I've had this issue several times and it always seems that within a day of it happening there are new updates and the problem goes away.
I believe it is a hosting plugin problem.
The hosts will change their API's which cause JDownloader to throw that error.
After the plugin is updated to conform with the new API the problem goes away.

Yep, that's why I was asking if it might come from RS... but I'll probably never understand why it only stops compressed files dl's
