If I remember correctly, ° Uninstall removeWAT (restoreWAT) ° Update SP1 ° Delete KB971033 ° Reinstall RemoveWAT Also After SP1, windows will keep installing KB971033 over and over automatically ... So change update settings to; " Check for updates but let me chose whether to download an install them " |

I would recomend daz loader becasue what's it's activated with the loader you don't have to worry about things like this. first use watfix since you used removewat. Its saying the loader way if its unable to reboot then you have to put in a Windows 7 disk which i dont have, anyone got a link to a decent copy of WIN 7 Ultimate x64 so i can have that ready just incase ?

I installed Win 7 Ultimate on PC & laptop around the same time, but for some reason, SP1 installed on the laptop, but not the PC! They are both using the same version of RemoveWat, so I am stumped about it. I tried lots of suggestions from folks here, with no success.

This is what ive done in the end just run Windows update then installed SP1, after installation windows shows up as not Genuine (i checked windows update at this point and found the KB971033 update had been installed automatically even though my update settings were set to manual) etc i then run Remove WAT uninstalled it, i then waited for it to reboot and then reinstalled remove WAT & now all is fine again with SP1 installed.

What I found with RemoveWat was that no matter how clever I tried to be, or what update settings I used, Windows would always install kb971033 without asking me at the first available opportunity. Lost count of the number of times I uninstalled it. It just kept coming back! RemoveWat worked fine until SP1. Then it was all re-arming and rewatting and bitching and whining. Daz loader gives me no trouble so far. Even have kb971033 installed. |
