Man, it's been ages since I've been here, but I just remembered how great the community was - I hope it's still the same!
So, I'm struggling with something that SHOULD be really easy...
You know those rollercoasters/rides where they take a photo of you and the photo goes into the "photo box" on the card? I need to do that...
I just can't seem to find anything to do it with.
I can of course do it manually, but I need to do it for about 40 people a night (it's for a show I'm working on).
Anyone got any suggestions?
If it's a script, that's cool - I'm ok with coding as long as I have a base to work from.
Thanks Guys!

are you familiar with photoshop and actions? it will let you record a series of commands (ie import photo, resize, add your frame, etc) and you can open up a photo and run all the commands. a free alternative is GIMP, but that uses scripts, which I think you have to write yourself.

You can use Gimp and then try this automated script. Code: Select All http://gimpscripts.com/2011/10/mats-and-frames/#more-397 You betcha tehparadox has the best and smartest members anywhere! |

Haha, I was wondering if someone would google and find my yahoo answers attempt. I've never asked yahoo answers a question, was curious. Thanks for the GIMP script - however it only allows for framing. I may take a look at editting it to put a png over the top, however it looks like it will be a bit TOO much coding to resize etc. I'll look into the photoshop thing though |

If you go with the photoshop action route, let me know if you need any help with it. I have a lot of pre-made actions on hand I could upload for you, or try to make one from scratch for ya.

Hey all, thanks for the help. Did certainly end up being more useful than Yahoo Answers, except for the one yahoo answers post which directed me to here =P I ended up resolving it in a far more simple way. I made the template out of a big piece of cardboard and put the little cork figures in a little box I left up the top. It's perhaps not so technically interesting, but it's far more visually interesting and people really enjoy making their own little postcards that way. I will at some stage check out the photoshop action technique, if nto for this, then for something else. Never played with Photoshop actions, and I imagine they could be really handy. |
