I don't have a Premium account, so I download anonymously. Not even a free account (if they offer free accounts).
I use JDownloader and get around 20kbps.
I'm Canada too.

Everyone saying they have great speeds and pics to prove, seem to be Premium users.
Anyone with free accounts seeing very low speeds??
For the past few months I've had no luck with them on free/anonymous downloads.
So I only ever use Netload on the tail-ends where the final piece/archive is very small, as free/anonymous Netload does not support resumable downloads.

How do you manage those speeds on a Free Account?

I've been having problems with Netload as a free user, too. Since June 4th (or maybe the 11th - I'm not sure which weekend it started), speeds have been <10 KBps, and I have not been able to finish ~200 MB downloads. Before then, I was able to finish downloads with at least 200 KBps.

I wonder if this is only a problem for North America. I'm in the southeastern US. Where are the users with good speeds, and do you have premium? Are any free users with slow speeds outside North America?

I have been with Netload for a very long time but always Premium so cannot say how's the speed for a free user. But Premium is great, don't think it can be better though this last week it seemed to have some disconnection problems for few minutes. I am in Europe.

Why don't you guys go with MediaFire,it has multiple downloading without having to be a premium user like other hosters.

Netload used to be great even for free users, with only occasional slowness. It's been slow for days for me. Most people would be driven batty by my speed, which is generally 60-70 KBPS, but Netload is giving me 5-20. Absolute bollocks. I understand premium users get better speeds, as to be expected, but to cripple free users to the point of unusability is poor business and isn't going to convince anyone to buy your premium accounts.

Netload maxes out my 60mb line. Hit speeds from 7200-8000k. Got a account recently after the filehost Apocalypse. So far I am happy with it.

I think all the regular available hosts (RS, Netload) are being overwhelmed with new traffic and it's affecting they're servers. I've been having delays with RS and netload and I'd assume it to be because of the amount of traffic since 3 of the big ones disappeared.

I agree with the above post. It has to be the new traffic. I was getting decent speeds with netload until MU disappeared and now it's between 10-20 KB/s. Rapidshare has slowed a bit but still getting around 500 KB/s-1000 KB/s depending on time of day. I'm located in the U.S. on the east coast. I hope uploaders use rapidshare as much as possible.

Netload is slow (100 KB/s) during the day and fast (3000-4000 KB/s) at night.

Like many hosts these days what they offer free users is almost un-useable.
