hello,
This is really annoying me now as the school i blocking almost everything, i cannot even do my work without a website i need information from is blocked!
This has become more then just a nuicance.
I have installed firefox and tryed the proxysel addon but i cannot update the proxy lists as the source sites are blocked and firefox needs to connect to the school intranet, so in options for it to work i need to select automatically configure proxy from url : http://pac.schools.nsw.edu.au/schools/henrykenda-h.pac
Ok so how can i get around this?
There needs to be a way to configure it to directly connect to the internet then connect to a proxy i suppose but everytime i choose connect directly to the internet firefox will not load web pages.
Anyone who helps me with this i will love for the rest of my life and add to their respect :P

hmmm well i know that web proxys do work but you use them then almost guarenteed next week you enter the room to us them again they will be blocked... it is quite frustrating actually.

What I do to get pass sites is run portable firefox off of a jumpdrive, that always seemed to work

Grrr tehparadox that was a big help but every single proxy on that website is blocked arghhhhh.
Any more ideas i will try firefox portable though

Many school network filters are also word-based so a proxy address like hidemyass.com can be blocked because of "ass". The other ones can be blocked because of "proxy/proxies" words.

There are many ways to gain access to websites you're blocked from depending on how experienced your network administrator is the question is if it's worth the hassle. Some of the methods posted are good simple ones but I haven't seen another easy one which is converting the web address to ip or decimal format. It's most likely that the ip method of accessing the website was blocked but a lot of times the decimal method is overlooked so I would try that. Also do you have access to command prompt or notepad?

Well if you have access to notepad you will most likely be able to access command prompt with it.
