Dvd Want to give back to tehparadox community

Hello. I have been on this site for a while. I thank the members for uploading great content that is otherwise hard to find anywhere else.

I would like to give back to the community, but I do not have the $/means to do so. I have an original DVD that I would like to upload/share, but the file sharing sites do not accept a file this large. It is a large file that needs to stay in it's current format so it can be played on a DVD player for interactivity. The file is about 7.6gb and fits on a DVD-9 disc.

Is there anyone that would be willing to work with me to get this file uploaded and share with tehparadox? I know that many of you will love this piece that I put together, so please get back with me.

Here are the details:
I synced the Wizard of Oz, with the Dark Side of the Moon. Yes.. I know may would say this has been available by others before; but not as detailed and involved as mine. This was a 3 year project I started back in 2004. This has very nicely done animated menus and a clean easy to use menu navigation. I worked very hard on this, and decided to give it out for free, but I need your help getting it out.

Audio options:
• Stereo
• 5.1 mix from the SACD version
• Oringinal movie audio

Subtitles:
• Music subtitles
• Movie subtitles

Special features:
• On screen pop-ups, explaining the connection between music and movie

Other features:
• Kaleidoscope with Stereo, and 5.1 mix from the SACD version
• Eater egg with behind hidden scenes of the making of the DSOTM album

Other:
Hidden features in the menus.

Much more than I can explain!!

Other notes:
I've compared the DVD video quality to the new Blu-ray release. There is not a big difference in the quality of the video. I know you all will love this, as I've worked very hard on it!

Rip the DVD then use Winrar or 7Zip to create a rar file.
Make sure to set Winrar or 7Zip to split the rar file into parts.
Somewhere from 100 to 400 Mb parts should do you fine.

Then upload each part to the file sharing service of choice (Multiple sites would be good so you have mirrors) then post the links to all the parts here.

We download all the parts and use Winrar or software of choice to join all the rar parts together and then extract all the parts.

Many thanks to you and your generosity.

P.S. Love that version. The Dark Side of the Rainbow. Cool!

I just don't have a file sharing account to upload 7.6gb worth of 200mb rar files.

Archive files can be split into multiple pieces. This has a number of advantages: leechers with slow transfer rates or sketchy connections can get one piece at a time without worrying about being able to resume if the connection is lost. If data gets corrupted in the transfer, you only need to re-download one part. Smaller parts mean you can avoid file-size limitations on download providers. And finally, you can do a "test" on the archive to verify the integrity after downloading. And really finally, if the uploader enables compression, it may be possible to reduce the amount of data being downloaded. Video files are already highly compressed, but occasionally someone uploads dual-layer disc images which contain a bunch of empty space, or cover scans in an uncompressed format. Oh yeah, and one more advantage: if the item is hosted on multiple sites, you can often get higher effective transfer rates at free speeds by downloading parts from different sites.

With 7zip, you could right-click and choose "Add to Archive", then select "Split to volumes, bytes:" and enter some appropriate number (400M?). Under "Compression Level" you could leave it at "Store" which will be quickest, but if there's compressible content, choose "Normal" or better (depending on how much of a hurry you're in).

One thing: make sure there's a layer break. I've run into the occasional DVD9 where Imgburn tells me "this is the end of the world" because it couldn't find a place for the layer break.

Another site where this kind of thing wouldn't be out of place is Avaxhome; there's at least one fan-made DVD5 created from an out-of-print Criterion laserdisc there. But you still have to split it into rars, then upload those bits to hosters.

you don't need a premium account to upload , you just need to create a free account with them.

A premium is just to download
