I wonder if it would be possible to have a separate area for these kind of warnings? That way the section would be plainly visible and folks wouldn't have to burrow into other sections or come across a warning like this by accident {like I happened upon this one just now}.

Peace to you and yours,

That sounds like a great idea. Make it happen mods.

I second that... or well.. since the post just above mine did just that I suppose I "third" that (itf thaty expression existed, that is)

I'd like to take it one step further and have some kind of section/sticky/thread with advice on how to be "better safe than sorry" when handling keygens/cracks etc... I usually go around preaching about safety, but I never really feel I'm taken that seriously, which is too bad because there's so many people out there that have more infections than BP has oil floating around in the Atlantic and they just don't have a clue...

The simple answer is, if anyone finds a suspicious file which has caused problems, please report the thread and staff will take the appropriate action.

Most members don't read the notices now, so a separate section or sticky would only help a handful of members.

I highly recommend anyone downloading anything, scan the file before installation, and you can use 7zip to aid, because it allows you to open the archive of .exe files, and if you find anything suspicions within the .exe file, don't use it.
We take every possible precaution on this site, but to keep the site clean, we rely on the help of the members, we can't possibly check every file uploaded

Yeah. Common sense and caution can prevent 99% of the problems caused by viruses and crap like that. The only reason i even originally brought this up is when it first started the trick these guys were using was getting by just about every single AV out there. But i dont believe thats the case anymore.
