Hello everyone, i recently purchased a Phillips DVP3140 DivX certified DvD player. When i download video files i try to get them in the smaller formats mostly .rmvb and .mkv. I then convert them with WinAVI Video Converter usually using the xvid codect to convert them to .AVI. I then burn it to a data dvd using nero express. Now Heres my problem when i put it in the dvd player and play a file that was originally mkv and converted to avi using xvid the audio skips if more then one audio sound is being played i.e. music+characters voice talking they will both skip, or when just music is playing it skips. and then if i play the original mkv file on VLC theres no audio trouble so my question is is this problem happening because i convert using xvid or it is because the source file was mkv? P.S. this same thing happens when i convert rmvb video files using xvid codec. So if someone could tell my y this is happening it would be great i did some research online and i found this article Content visible to registered users only. Join our free community today! it says Content visible to registered users only. Join our free community today! i havent tested this yet but is it possible this is all i need? when i pul up the nic's fourcc changer i just change the fourcc to divx but i havent tested this method yet so if anyone could answer my questions it would be greatly appreaciated. thanks ahead of time. I'm going to go out on the lim here and say that maybe your problem lies in the fact your trying to make Xvid play on a Divx DVD player hey are different formats try converting with Divx it is better than Xvid now anyway. Edit: Forget what I said I just re read your post still think it is a good idea to convert MKV's and RMVB to Divx though. Last edited by HomeAndAwayFan; 07-18-2008 at 02:47 PM. |

what resolution are the xvid files you converted to? also it is a good idea to change the fourcc's to divx, nero express can do this on the fly when u add avi files to a data dvd or cd. it is usually in the advanced options (arrow on left side of the window). |
