Liberi Fatali is perhaps one of the best pieces ever created for FF and yet it is never featured for performances like these. Huge shame.

I had seen the dear friends concert in atlanta back a number of years ago, 2003 or so.. i forget. The opening number was indeed liberi fatali, complete with a drop down projector screen that showed the opening cg animation from ff8. It was one of the best concert experiences I've ever been to, and easily the longest standing ovation I've ever seen. The standing ovation went on for at least 5 minutes after the encore song, and the conductor came back out on stage and apologized, saying that they had not prepared any more encore pieces than the one, so offered to have us vote (based on cheers) whether they should play liberi fatali once again (the piece they opened with), or one winged angel once again(the piece they did as a closing encore). I'm pretty sure, everyone cheered at each, and I heard a number of people shout out 'play both!'.
